Camp Washington has been nurturing exploration and transformation for over 100 years! Established in 1917, Camp Washington’s beautiful 300 acre campus in the Litchfield Hills welcomes people of all faith traditions to find God in nature, to relax and learn, to have fun and make life long friends!  Camp Washington is the official camp and retreat center of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut.

We strive to create a community where children and staff, through teamwork, individual exploration and worship, can grow closer to God, as revealed in Jesus Christ. At Camp Washington we promote the enjoyment of nature through education and creativity, the strength of a community based on both togetherness and independence,  and the ability to enable each person towards the recognition of their responsibility as stewards of God’s creation.

Did you know that you can make a difference by giving a child the transformative gift of camp? Learn more about nominating a child through the Bishops Fund for Children.

Work at camp washington - summer 2024

Working at Camp Washington is more of a calling than a simple summer job.  It takes creativity, patience, initiative, and a healthy dose of humor.  Both our campers and their parents can attest that the most important piece of the Camp Washington program is the team of dedicated young men and women who come together to form the summer staff each year.

Each year we carefully select a team of mature, responsible, and creative individuals to lead, support, and challenge our campers.  Join us for the best summer job you will ever have: long days, warm nights, and memories to last a lifetime!

If you think you have what it takes to be a part of this immersive environment, to be a Youth Development Professional, and to truly become a part of a welcoming and supportive community, we welcome you to apply for consideration by completing the application. We are looking for Program Directors in Arts & Crafts, Sports, Performing Arts, Wilderness and Waterfront, as well as cabin staff and more!
