Time & Location
Oct 24, 2020, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Camp Washington, 190 Kenyon Rd, Lakeside, CT 06758, USA
About the Event
If you are someone who has always wanted to try your hand at reading scripture in church, or someone who is already a Lector and interested in honing your skills, or if you have considered leading Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer or Compline- come join us for a lively, informative, day-long workshop at beautiful Camp Washington.
Taught by professor, actor, author and speech-coach Dr. Ron Marasco, this program will teach how to bring your individual personality and expressive skills to sharing scripture and liturgy with an audience.
This is a chance for you to:
1) Get some actual “up-on-your-feet” practice in a supportive, educational atmosphere, in front of an audience of like-minded peers of all ages.
2) Learn some of the trade secrets of good speaking and effective performance.
3) Explore, by trial and error, how to capitalize on your individual strengths as a speaker.
Above all, it will be a day of learning new things about the word of God by embodying it in performance!
So come get out of the house for a day at camp! Where there is room to recreate, romp around the grounds, meet new friends, and find your voice as a scripture reader!
We are practicing social distancing, wearing masks, washing hands, and being safe at Camp Washington. Plans for the day include outdoor spaces whenever possible, and safe indoor spaces as alternatives.
Cost: $30.00 for Adults, $20.00 for Students includes Lunch, Coffee, and Snacks
Open to All- Lay People, Youth, and Clergy
